Contrast isn’t just in our name—it’s our signature.
At Contrast69, we believe true sophistication lies in the unexpected. Our design philosophy celebrates asymmetry and contrast—juxtaposing bold with subtle, raw with refined, light with shadow—to craft spaces that are both visually compelling and emotionally resonant.
Every project is a dialogue between distress and harmony. We lean into the power of contradiction to create interiors that defy convention while maintaining a sense of balance and cohesion. Our work is not about following trends—it's about curating atmospheres where every element has a purpose, and every imperfection tells a story.
From dramatic residential makeovers to high-concept commercial spaces, Contrast69 delivers design that commands attention without shouting. We work closely with clients who are unafraid to express individuality through bold design moves and refined spatial storytelling.
Meet the designers
Cherrón Gardner
Partner & Designer
Cherrón Gardner is an Event Producer, Interior Designer, and Real Estate Entrepreneur with a passion for transforming spaces that look stunning and work beautifully. With over 18 years of experience in event design, brand experience, and property management, Cherrón has learned that great design lives at the intersection of creativity and strategy, form and function, vision and value.
Cherrón's journey began in marketing before moving to high-end event production, crafting experiences for global brands where every detail mattered — lighting, flow, emotion, and story. Today, she brings that same meticulous eye and sense of atmosphere to interior design and staging, creating spaces that are both elevated, inviting and attainable.
As the owner of multiple investment properties, a property management company, and a portfolio of short-term rentals, Cherrón understands design from both sides — the artistic and the operational. She designs with the heart of a creator and the mind of an investor — ensuring every space not only feels extraordinary but performs exceptionally.
Whether transforming a private residence, styling a luxury short-term rental, or staging a home for sale, the goal is simple: to create environments that spark emotion, tell a story, and leave a lasting impression. Because great design isn’t just about how a space looks — it’s about how it lives.
Cherrón Gardner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Syracuse University, is designated as a Certified Meeting Professional from Event Industry Council showcasing a high-level of expertise in meeting and event managent. She also holds Certificates in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from the University of South Florida, Event Marketing Strategy from Cvent, and Meeting Management from University of Georgia.
When she’s not working, Cherrón loves traveling, reading a good book, listening to music live or at home on vinyl, shopping for her new favorite thing, and enjoying great coffee and even better champagne.
Danielle Penn
Partner & Designer
Danielle Penn is a designer who sees space as language—shaped not just by form and function, but by feeling. With a deep appreciation for contrast, asymmetry, and quiet drama, she crafts residential and commercial spaces that speak with nuance and live with intention. Her work balances restraint and richness, softness and edge—favoring interiors that feel curated, not staged; lived in, not just looked at.
Rooted in intuition and guided by storytelling, Danielle’s design practice is both thoughtful and visceral. Whether she’s sourcing a singular piece of art or reimagining the bones of a room, she approaches every detail as an opportunity to elevate the everyday. For her, great design isn’t just seen—it’s sensed.
Beyond interiors, Danielle is a New Jersey State Licensed and Nationally Certified Electrologist, currently expanding her expertise through cosmetology studies. Her goal is to help clients manage the hormonal impacts that affect scalp and hair health, as well as unwanted body hair—blending aesthetics, wellness, and confidence through a holistic approach to beauty and design.
Danielle earned a BFA in Electronic Design & Multimedia and a BA in Media & Communications Arts with a specialization in Advertising and Public Relations from The City College of New York (CUNY). She later obtained her Master’s in Design Management from Pratt Institute, a program that bridges design, strategy, innovation, and sustainable business management—equipping creative leaders to manage change and innovation across industries.
Driven by a passion for design, human connection, and sustainability, Danielle believes that design exists in every facet of life—but without empathy, inclusivity, and responsibility in our use of technology, great design cannot be achieved.
When she’s not working, Danielle can be found recharging near the ocean, crafting beaded decor and jewelry, or serving her community with the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
